Biography

I have received a B.F.A.  from Western Illinois University, and have completed  the University of North Carolina at Asheville's Teacher Licensure program for K-12 Art.  I am a potter by trade and a learner by nature. I discovered the joys of stimulating young minds while I was an AmeriCorps member teaching environmental education to second through ninth graders.  I have worked with adults with developmental disabilities and youth with behavioral and emotional disorders.  I believe that these combined experiences were preparing me to embark on a career teaching a subject that I love to a wide variety of children. I wish to share my enthusiasm for art in all its forms with my students, help them find creativity they may not have known existed and bring exciting, innovative ways of teaching art to my students.
